I'm Wendy Withrow, and in 2008 I created Windy Weather Bindery, a very small shop devoted to highly custom projects. Because I am small and work for myself, I am able to take on really interesting and unique projects that larger binderies are unable to accommodate. I love collaborating closely with artists, photographers, writers, and individuals on projects that they feel passionate about. It's exciting to make something meaningful together. I operate my shop out of my home in Grand Rapids, Michigan, but I got my start at the North Bennet Street School in Boston, Massachusetts, where I earned a diploma in Bookbinding in 2008. While in Boston I also had the opportunity to intern at the Northeast Document Conservation Center in Andover, MA, and at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. In addition to custom work, I make artist books for exhibition, some of which have been shown at the Minnesota Center for Book Arts, the Guild of Bookworkers national traveling show, and the Concord Museum in Concord, MA. If you have a project that you would like to work on together, get in touch. I look forward to hearing from you!
