Collective Style

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

I had the pleasure of working collaboratively on this album, which was given as a wedding gift.  The cover needed to be in keeping with the colors as well the clean and elegant look of the couple’s invitation.

The fabulous letterpress silhouette of the couple was produced and printed by Albertine Press on a set of notecards.

I cut out the silhouette from one of the notecards and inset it into the cover, along with a label that I embossed with the couple’s names and wedding date.  The bookcloth is a lovely Japanese silk-like fabric in a shimmering copper color.

I think the result was quite nice. What a pleasure it was to be part of the creation of this album!

What’s New At The Bindery

Monday, April 20th, 2009

My husband, Matthew Reidsma (of High Maintenance Machine fame), and I were selected to have a table at the Indieana Handicraft Exchange in Indianapolis, Indiana on June 13. So… I am gearing up for some production in the bindery in the next few weeks. I have some new items in the works, which I will feature here as I finish them. In the meantime, here are some of the new items I have recently made. In case you aren’t able to make it to Indianapolis, but really have to have them, all these items are currently available for sale in my Etsy store.
